

Call for Applications:
GIAS Executive Board 2026-2027
The Georgetown International Arbitration Society (GIAS) invites interested J.D. and LL.M. students at Georgetown University Law Center to apply for the following positions on the GIAS Executive Board for the 2026–2027 academic year. To apply, please submit the following application materials to lawgias@georgetown.edu, no later than August 21, 2026:

A CV or résumé;

A motivation letter (maximum 500 words); and

Your top three preferred positions, listed in order of preference, in the body of your email.
Please include “GIAS Application” in the subject line of your email. Applicants will be notified of the application results by August 26, 2026. Selected applicants should confirm their acceptance by August 28, 2026.
The first GIAS Board meeting will be held during the first week of September.
Application materials will be retained only for the duration of the selection process and will be securely destroyed thereafter.

Administrative Committee
The Administrative Committee oversees the day-to-day operations of GIAS and works closely with the General Events Committee and the Arbitration Month Committee to organize the events. One position is open for each of the roles listed below.
Vice-President (1 position)
The Vice-President supports the President in managing the Society by helping lead meetings, coordinating events, and expanding GIAS’s outreach and engagement.
Treasurer (1 position)
The Treasurer manages GIAS’s finances, maintains financial records, and liaises with Georgetown Law administration regarding budget and funding matters.
Communications Director (1 position)
The Communications Director develops publicity strategies for GIAS events and manages the Society’s communications, including social media, promotional materials, and announcements. Experience with Canva, Photoshop, or other graphic design tools is preferred.
Secretary (1 position)
The Secretary oversees the Society’s administrative tasks, including taking meeting minutes, maintaining organizational records, and assisting with internal communications.
General Events Committee
The General Events Committee plans and organizes GIAS events held throughout the academic year, excluding Arbitration Month events. This committee consists of:

Arbitration Month Committee
The Arbitration Month Committee plans and organizes GIAS’s flagship Arbitration Month events, held annually during February and March. This Committee consists of:
