Join the 2020-2021 GIAS Board!

The Georgetown International Arbitration Society is looking for new members for the 2020-2021 Board!

 
All interested J.D. and L.L.M. students are invited to apply by sending a 250 word statement of interest and a résumé to lawgias@georgetown.edu.

Please indicate which board positions you are interested in and why you want to be a part of GIAS leadership. Details about the open positions can be found below.

All applications must be received by 11:59PM EST on Friday, October 2nd (extended). 

General Board positions:
  • GIAS Vice President - responsible for internal organization of GIAS and coordinating support for other board members.

  • GIAS Secretary - responsible for ensuring GIAS meetings are effective and organized, maintaining meeting minutes and other records.

  • GIAS Communications Coordinator - responsible for advertising all general GIAS events throughout the year creating flyers and managing RSVP lists and event attendance; will also assist with logistical and administrative details as needed.

  • GIAS Lead Event Organizer - responsible for being updated on all events throughout the year, including brown bag lunches or larger events, creating planning schedules and deadlines, assisting in planning and coming up with event ideas, and tracking logistical details.

  • GIAS Events Co-Organizer - responsible for planning and coming up with event ideas; will identify and email panelists, seek sponsorships, coordinate event space with the school and/or hosting firms.

  • GIAS 1L Representatives - responsible for organizing outreach to 1L J.D. students and helping to plan events which meet their interests.

Arbitration Month Committee positions:
  • Arbitration Month Lead Organizer - responsible for being updated on all events for Arbitration Month, creating planning schedules and deadlines, assisting in planning and coming up with event ideas, and tracking logistical details; serves as direct contact between committee and President.

  • Arbitration Month Co-Organizer - responsible for planning and coming up with event ideas; will identify and email panelists, seek sponsorships, coordinate event space with the school and/or hosting firms.

  • Arbitration Month Communications and Advertisement Coordinator - responsible for advertising all arbitration month events, creating flyers and managing RSVP lists and event attendance; will also assist with logistical and administrative details as needed.
